The product
BoilDocs is a personal, open-source experiment connecting a React interface to an AI-powered automation backend. It accepts a documentation URL or raw text and returns structured notes with key concepts, quick-start guidance, code examples, caveats, difficulty, and estimated reading time. A Vercel API route sits between the browser and an authenticated n8n webhook, keeping the webhook secret server-side. The prototype runs n8n in Docker with a Cloudflare Tunnel, and uses OpenRouter for summarization.
What I worked on
- Built the React, Vite, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS frontend for URL and pasted-text documentation inputs
- Connected the frontend through a Vercel server-side API route, keeping webhook authentication out of the browser
- Built an n8n workflow to detect input type, fetch and clean documentation, generate summaries, and validate structured JSON
- Integrated OpenRouter for AI-generated concepts, quick starts, code examples, caveats, and reading estimates
- Connected a Docker-hosted n8n instance through Cloudflare Tunnel and open-sourced the frontend and workflow
